Do I need to file a 1099r if I did not remove any money from my 401k?

I haven't received a 1099r so I am wondering if I even get one.

You will only receive a Form 1099-R if you received a distribution of $10 or more from a retirement plan.  This also includes amounts your rolled over into a different plan.

If neither of these situations apply to you, then you should not receive a Form 1099-R and therefore do not need to report anything regarding this form on your taxes.
