do i have to file for social security tax on my delivery income in order to get my social security credits or is it taken out of my taxes paid?
We cannot see your tax return or your screen. What delivery income? Were you delivering Instacart, DoorDash, Grubhub----or something like that? That is self-employment income and yes, you have to enter that income on your tax return and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare. I do not understand where you are seeing "nonfarm" --please explain that.
If you have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare, you will need to use online Premium software or any version of the desktop software download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.
