Do I enter GROSS distributions received from a 2015 retirement account in 2016 taxes? I already paid taxes on this distribution l last year.

For the saver's credit in the current year, the prior distributions need to be entered as they impact if you are eligible for the credit this year.

The gross amount needs to be entered.

IRS does check these, so entering this will prevent a letter later from IRS..

Did you get a 1099R and reported this in 2015?  Are you working on the 2016 saver's credit?

I don't recall if I got a 1099R in 2015, but I did request one recently.  But yes, I reported this in 2015 and yes, I am working on the 2016 saver's credit.
