No. It shouldn't add to your Adjusted Gross income.  I tested this in my program and it excluded the income with a distribution code 6. Are you using the online version of Turbo Tax or the software? if using online, go to preview my 1040. Look at lines 5A and 5B. 5A should have an amount listed but not 5B.

If there is an amount in 5B, go back and check your 1099R entry to see if you entered a distribution code 6. If  that is correct, check your Box 2A to see if there is a taxable amount listed there. If so, remove it.

if you are using desktop software, go to forms and check the 1040 and compare lines 5A & 5B. Also check to see if you checked the box in your 1099R entry indicating this is an IRA.

There must be something wrong checked distribution code and it is a 6. Amount is still showing up as gross income. I can not do my taxs getting close to Irmaa. This error is adding 20,057.00 to my gross adjusted gross income that does not belong there. Is there anyone else who can help me.

Do you have an amount in Box 2a of your 1099-R?  If so, as suggested above, remove it.

If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and go back to your 1099-R entry.  You can try deleting it and re-entering it manually (if you imported it).

Here's How to Enter 1099-R
