I used that same link to fill out the form, and have been waiting for an email to be sent. My question was has anyone else gotten their email, or was able to edit their 1040? Im 3 hours away from Feb 9th here and have not seen an update from TurboTax the was supposed to be sent on the 8th.

If you have claimed the Recovery Rebate credit on your tax return and later received the stimulus check, you can return to the TurboTax program to make adjustment without amending.

To see instructions, click here: Recover Rebate Credit update

The Recovery Rebate Credit is a credit that was authorized by the CARES Act.  If you were eligible for an Economic Impact payment, commonly referred to as a stimulus payment, but did not receive one or you received less than the full amount as an advanced payment in 2020 then you can claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return. To learn more, click here: Recovery Rebate Credit

Generally, you are eligible to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit if you:

  • Were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2020
  • Were not claimed as a dependent
  • Have a social security number valid for employment that is issued before the due date of your 2020 tax return.
