Deducting after-tax contributions from ira distribution.

In 2007 I rolled my employer 401k into a Fidelity Traditional IRA (retired).  The 401k included after-tax contributions of ~33k and the 2007 1099-R shows this amount in box 5.  In 2022 I received my first RMD from a non-Fidelity Traditional IRA and their 1099-R (of course) has a blank box 5.  After I click the Continue button on the 1099-R Entries page I am never asked if I made and tracked nondeductible contributions to my Traditional IRA nor is there an EasyGuide button?  Do I have to wait to withdraw from Fidelity to receive the basis adjustment?  Thank you

Please click "Continue" when you get to the summary screen. You will first get the disaster screen and then TurboTax will ask about the Nondeductible contribution.

I cannot recreate your issue, the screen "Any Nondeductible Contributions to Your IRA?" is coming up for me after clicking Continue on the "Your 1099-R Entries" screen. Please make sure the IRA/SIMPLE/SEP box is checked when entering your Form 1099-R from your traditional IRA into TurboTax. You might have to try to delete and reenter your Form 1099-R.

Thank you.  I deleted and re-entered and here are my screens:

Data Entry

Inherit?

RMD Verification

Charity?

HSA?

and then back to summary?

Using TT Premier.  I think I have worked around it it by generating an 8606 and using basis.
