David's disability military retirement income wasn't listed on the return. Is this correct? It was not taxed and he didn't receive a 1099R from the government.

Any money he gets from the VA is not taxed and won't be reported to you on any form, just an annual award letter. It is not entered on your tax return.

If he is also receiving retired pay, you can get his DFAS 1099-R online at: https://mypay.dfas.mil/
