Contributing to a 2018 traditional IRA for a tax reduction

TT tells me if I open a traditional IRA by 4/15/19 (for 2018), that I can get a tax break. Instead of opening a new traditional IRA, can I instead contribute to an existing traditional IRA I have?

Yes you can!  As long as it’s a traditional IRA and not a Roth IRA.
