Confused about the TP teachers retirement form that pops up in the review messages. Should I trust the numbers that were auto filled?

We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?

We can't see you tax information. What exactly are you seeing that you question?

Intuit TT  Georgia State tax is prompting me to check TP teachers retirement entered on my 1099-R and to enter Ga taxes already paid.

I’m looking at TP teachers retirement box to fill, but not understanding what goes in or is it zero.
This is as we are reviewing my state taxes.

thanks for any advice.

@goshea TP stands for Taxpayer, meaning the first person listed on the tax return.

Did you receive Georgia Teachers Retirement Income reported to you on the 2024 Form 1099-R?

Yes! I did receive Georgia Teacher Retirement income for 2024 and it’s on my 1099-R

@goshea On the Form 1099-R in box 14 were there state income taxes withheld?  If so, then box 15 should have the GA state ID and the payer ID.

After entering the 1099-R there were a series of screens asking various questions.  One of the screens was for you to select the State where you were living when you received the distribution.  If you indicated on the Form 1099-R that the state payer was GA then Georgia would already be selected on that screen.  The next screen asks Where is This Distribution From? you should have selected Money from the Teacher's Retirement System of Georgia and then continue.

Great! I’ve checked and that is all confirmed.
Thank you so much for the clarification! I appreciate it!
