Can I opt-out of the Retirement Savings Credit so I don't have to pay for deluxe? The IRS says you don't have to take a credit, obviously; They hate giving away money.

If I can't opt-out in a set way, should I clear the 12a box of the W2 in order to go through the return, print it myself, and fix it? I'm not paying practically my whole refund to gain less money back overall because of the deluxe edition requirement.
If that doesn't seem wise, I'm just never using TurboTax again and am moving to the cheapest option. This is highway robbery.

@asteroider

Supposedly...all you have to do is go thru the RSCC questions, and indicate that you were a full-time student during 2022...that is supposed to remove the credit, and doesn't actually commit you to being a student.

Yes, you can avoid claiming the retirement Savings Credit by following these steps:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on the "Search" on the top and type “Retirement Credit”
  3. Click on “Jump to Retirement Credit”
  4. Continue until "Tell us if you were full-time students in 2022" and answer "Yes"
