Amount stated on Oregon's 1099-G is more than what i received last year. Why is the 1099-G amount larege than what i received in state tax refund?

Why is the amount on my 1099-G for state tax refund larger than actual refund check I received. Which amount should I report on my 2016's 1040 form?

As IRS also receives a copy of your Form 1099-G, I would suggest you to contact State of Oregon to verify the actual payment received so that it can be straighten out to match IRS records. Sometimes there might be some adjustment or deductions made on their end.  If your Form 1099-G is incorrect, the state will need to re-issue you a corrected version.
