Am i required to report my spouse's form ssa-1099

Yes if you are filing a Joint return.   And if you are filing MFS  in a community property state.

@curfman3 and if you are living together and file MFS, then 85% of the SS is AUTOMATICALLY taxable - a very bad deal!!!!! beware!

If you are filing a joint return then ALL of your combined income goes on the return including Social Security.   If you are filing married filing separately then your spouse has to file and pay tax on that SS money---and a lot of it will be taxable if you file MFS.

 

 Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
