First, please allow me to express our condolences, for myself and everyone here at Intuit.

OPM should issue two Forms 1099-R or CSA 1099-R, depending on the type of pension. There should be one in your husband's name for the payments issued in 2016 while he was still alive. The second should be issued in your name, for the amounts paid to you during 2016.

Each form should be entered into TurboTax separately for inclusion on your joint return.

The easiest way to get to the 1099-R entry screen is to simply search for 1099-R (upper- or lower-case, with or without the dash) in your TurboTax program and then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.

Then answer Yes, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to either import or type in your 1099-R form.
