After Entering my wifes 1099R, Turbo tax is assuming she just retired and received a lump sum by asking Did she inherit this IRA and then what she did with the money?

TTAX is assuming my wife retired this year by asking if she inherited this IRA and then TTAX asks, Where did Mary move the money,  like we took a lump sum.  This happens just after entering info on 1099r.   This is a monthly distribution that we started years ago.

Sounds to me like your wife is getting distributions from a pension but you ticked the box on the 1099-R that says the distribution is from an IRA.

Whats the code in Box 7 of the 1099R?

What box number are you referring to that was ticked accidentally as an IRA? please state BOX Number.

Next to Box 7 is a checkbox that says IRA/SEP/SIMPLE   if that gets checked the software considers it an IRA.

If the form isn't acting like expected, I'd delete that 1099R and re-enter it from scratch

Deleteing the Original 1099r was the answer.  I was able to move past the Lump Sum questions.  Thank You

Every once in awhile a form just gets corrupted or something, not sure how or why, but deleting and reentering it seems to solve it.
