A falsified 1099 form was sent to my parents address that has my name on it and says I received $3168 from LMB OpCo LLC, what is the best thing I can do to address this issue and resolve it?

Looks like someone took out a loan in your name.

First I would contact the issuer and ask why it was sent and have them send in a corrected form if they made a mistake.

This question was from back in January 2021 so they may not still need help for it.   And a 1099NEC would not be for a loan.   If the poster comes back here....was your ssn also on the 1099NEC?

I reached out to the IRS and they gave me a code in order to file my taxes. In total I ended up receiving 3 of these 1099 forms and had to open up an identity theft case with the SSA. Have not heard anything since, but we will see if I receive them this year. Basically someone was falsifying my name to work and not pay taxes
