NOTE there is still one week to e-File 1040-X if your Form 1040 was ACCEPTED.

OTHERWISE,

The proper way to file Form 8606 is attached to Form 1040-X.

Form 8606 can be mailed by itself only when you are otherwise not required to file a tax return.

Do you have the correct taxable amount on Line 4b and did not take a deduction?
After you e-File,
get Form 1040-X from IRS website and mail it in with your 8606, which you can also get in editable PDF.
Note: since you are not changing any dollar amounts on your amended tax return, you can leave all the lines 1-23 EMPTY.

Part III explanation: "didn't include Form 8606 with e-File".

Yes, as per turbo tax efile Federal return was accepted. While due date is 10/16 for 2022 return.

I answered the question in Turbo tax easy step and resulting 8606 form does NOT show any 4b.

I see line 1 has 6000

3 6000

4 empty

I did do roth ira conversion for this but i assume that's 2023 tax event becoz it's done this year.

My mistake.

Instead of "4b"    I should have referred you to

Schedule 1 Line 20.

It should be zero indicating no deduction taken.

If not zero on your original return, you have to rescind that
and then it is no longer the case that no dollar amounts are changing.

schedule 1 line 20 is empty (zero) ( no deduction taken )
