401k distribution shows a higher amount than what was distributed.

Turbo Tax is putting a higher amount on line 5b than what is listed in 5a.. the amount in 5a is what is reflected on my 1099R.. However, deleting and manually entering it does not change Turbo Tax from increasing the amount on line 5b. How does Turbo Tax calculate that cost?

Have you entered any Forms 1099-R that have an amount in box 2a that is greater than the amount in box 1?

No. Those numbers are identical when I entered them. I have also noticed going through back taxes. They did the same thing. Making 5b higher than 5a.. I have been using TurboTax for about 10 years now. Didn't think I would have to go check their math until I noticed it this year. Something is causing 5b higher. I can't find where TurboTax does the worksheet either.
