2 W2 forms

Good day,

I have 2 W2 forms. One is from the US Virgin Islands and one is from Harrisburg, PA. Can I successfully do my taxes through Turbotax? What are the steps if I can proceed?

Thank you!

Unless you qualify for the De Minimus Exception for having to report US Virgin Island Income on Form 8689-Allocation of Individual Income Tax to the U.S. Virgin Islands, you won't be able to use TurboTax to file your returns.  TurboTax does not support for 8689.

According to IRS Instructions for Form 8689:

De minimis exception. This is an exception to the general rule for determining the source of income earned in the USVI. Generally, income from the USVI does not include compensation for services performed in the USVI if during 2023 you:

• Were a U.S. citizen or resident;
• Were not a bona fide resident of the USVI;
• Were not employed by or under contract with an individual, partnership, or corporation that is engaged in a trade or business in the USVI;
• Temporarily performed services in the USVI for 90 days or less; and
• Earned $3,000 or less from such services.
