1099-R

I took a distribution from an IRA of $22,000 in November 2020.  Then in January 2021 within 60 days put $3,000 back into IRA.  1099-r says $22,000 in box 1 and $22,000 in box 2a and 2b is checked.

Can I load $19,000 into TT since I put back the $3,000?

When I put $22,000 into TT it loads nothing into 4a but  loads $22,000 into 4b of 1040.  Shouldn't it load both 4a and 4b with $22,000?  (or eventually $19,000 if that is permitted)

Enter the 1099-R exactally as it is.     TurboTax will ask what you did with the money.  Say you "moved" it and then choose that you did a combination of things and enter the amount rolled back.

That  should put it on the 1040 form line 4a with the amount not rolled back on 4b with the word "ROLLOVER" next to it.
