1099-R shows former state (moved to new state, and received money there)

To which state do I file with the 1099 ? The state the 1099 shows as State/Payer's State no. or the state I moved to ?

1099 is for a Rule of 55 withdrawal from my current 401K (20% taxes taken out). I moved from prior state in beginning of May, took out money in my new state (about 2 week to 4 weeks) after I moved in there.

I either owe my prior state 3K or my current state 4K, depending on which state I should allocate these funds to.

You should allocate the funds to the state that was your residence at the time you received them.

Thanks. Spoke to prior and current state and they both agreed - taxes paid in the current state where the money was received.
