1099-R distribution code G. TT asks if I made after-tax contributions to a 401(K) & the amount. Should amt include all after-tax 401k contr. including catch-up?

I made the following after-tax contributions to my 401(K)...Roth 401(K), 401(K), and catch-up.  Should I enter the total of these 3?  This question is asked when entering the 1099-R information.

The question is asking about the after-tax contributions in the regular 401k to see if you had a basis in the 401k. The code G indicates this was from a regular 401k and not from your Roth 401k therefore you do not enter the after-tax contribution to the Roth 401k.

Please only enter all the after-tax contributions to the 401(k), do not include any contributions to the Roth 401(k).

Thank you for the information.  Is there a reason why I don't include the after-tax contributions made into the Roth 401(K)?
