Wrong TurboTax Version

I was advised to buy TurboTax Business because I am an investor and one of my holdings is a partnership (oil Pipeline partnership) which requires I report a K1. But I am a retired private person and have no business. I think the Business version is the wrong one. I cannot answer the questions, EIN # etc.

I bought this CD from Staples which will not let me return it for the proper one for registration reasons, etc..

Can I mail this to Intuit to exchange it for the lesser version?

What can I do please?

Who advised you yo buy the Business version? That is to do a partnership return to create the K-1. Not if you are receiving a K-1. As you found out it does not prepare personal 1040 returns. You could have bought any personal version, Basic, Deluxe, Premier or Home & Business.

You can try asking customer service. (You need to pick the CD/Download program in the product drop down box.)
