W2 employee hiring spouse?

I'm a very busy W2 salesperson, can I "hire" my spouse as a consultant/secretary to help manage my incoming communications? The company wouldn't pay her rather I would directly. It would probably be 15-20 hours a week off work

What are you trying to accomplish?   You cannot deduct what you "pay" your spouse as a job-related expense.  W-2 employees cannot deduct job-related expenses on a federal tax return.
