Two steps...you probably already did step #1, but I have to mention it because step #2 can't be done until step #1 is confirmed.
#1: Edit your personal information in the My Info area. Make sure you indicated that you were in the Military during 2022, and have set you enlisted (or officer) rank. Only enlisted get free software.
#2: Edit the W-2 again on the Wages & Income page. On a page after all the main form entries, is a page with a whole list of checkboxes. In the middle of it all is a checkbox where you indicate the W-2 is for an Active Duty Military service. That checkbox must be "X"d.
Just uploading a DFAS W-2 doesn't confirm it represents a military W-2....the checkbox in #2 is required by the software.
