Should my military dependent (a minor) claim the same state residency as me? Stationed in CA but resident of LA. She has a W2, but does the same CA non-resident apply?

I'm military, wife follows the military spouse non-residency as me. My dependent is a minor with a first time W-2, total wages under $10K with only federal income tax withheld

Yes. Generally, the residency of a minor child is the same as their parents. The Military Spouses Residency Relief Act doesn't specifically address the residency of a minor child, but the residency of a minor child is tied to their parents residency.
