I need help inputting the right info on my Military subtractions. I am a m-day soldier in the Oregon army National guard. I only do drills every month and AT every year.

I have my W-2, which I downloaded from mypay. I don’t know whether to input my income into the federal part or the national guard/reserves part.

All W-2s get entered in the same place on the federal return.  Search for W-2 and use the Jump to link to be taken to the entry screen.   Make sure to mark the box that asks if you served in the military (Active, Reserves, or National Guard).

National Guard and reserve pay subtraction (Code 319).   Pay earned by members required to be away from home overnight for at least 21 days consecutively.   Active Service in National Guard - Oregon National Guard members may subtract their military pay earned while in active service of the state or on state active duty under the authority of the governor.

TurboTax will transfer your W-2 information to your state returns after you enter it on the federal return.   You will be able to subtract income on the state return once you have entered it on the federal return.

Thank you for your service!
