Filing jointly as residents of two different state stationed in two different states

My husband is a resident of Texas and I am a resident of Maryland and we're trying to file our taxes jointly. Because I am currently stationed in Maryland and he has not been stationed here yet we're having some difficulty filing our state taxes.

He cant be a non-resident because he's never lived or been stationed here but I need to file my state taxes. How should we go about this?
Should we file jointly on my turbo tax account or file separately all together?

You can choose to file a joint return- married couples who filed joint federal returns but were domiciled in different states on the last day of the tax year can file a joint return, TurboTax will prepare a Form 505 and Form 505NR.

You can file the joint return or file separately.
