Please open your TurboTax return, search for capital loss carryover in the right top corner, and then select the Jump to link in the search results.

Please see What is a capital loss carryover? for additional information.

First of all there is no Jump To button. There is a Schedule D button. If you click on that yiu are not allowed to enter a loss, nor cay you  enter a sale of stock that occurred before 1/1/19.  after more than two and a half hours on the phone with four different tech support people, I still don’t have an answer. TT tax says it pulls the loss from the previos year’s return. Where is proof of that?  Why is there zero mention of the loss carryover while you’re going through the data entry/responding to questions?

In the Federal Section of TurboTax under Investment Income the second option is Capital Loss Carryover.  This is where you can enter your Capital Loss Carryover information.  Click on this section and TurboTax will walk you through entering your information.

If you used TurboTax in prior years, any carryover losses should update when you start your 2019 return.

To see this information you need to pay for your return (if you are using the online version of TurboTax) and then you can look at all of the forms in your return by clicking on Tax Tools on the Left Hand Side of the screen, Print Center.

If you are using the desktop version of TurboTax you can switch to the forms mode by clicking on forms in the Upper Right Hand Corner of the screen.

In both programs you are looking for the Carryover Worksheet which is towards the bottom of the Federal Forms in your tax return to see the amount of loss that is carried forward to 2019.
