Certificate of Rent Paid (CRP) is at the very end of the state return, after the questions about penalties, extensions, etc.  Look for a page titled "Other Forms You May Need".  Check the first box, Property Tax Refund (Form M1PR). That will take you through the section for the renter's credit.

When I follow these instructions and check the box labeled "Property Tax Refund (M1PR)" then press continue, I am not brought to the form for me to fill out, and instead, I am brought to a screen that is titled "Ready to Review Your State Return". I have repeatedly gone through to see if I have missed something or made an error but it seems to me that this may be a website error. That is unless there will be another place for me to submit the CRP, M1PR, later on even though everywhere I have looked points me to the "Other Forms You May Need" page that isn't taking me to the form.

Hello - I am facing a similar issue where I cannot access the Property Tax Refund (Form M1PR) page while filing my state return. When I click on the "Continue" button, it does not redirect me to the relevant page for filling out the form. I am stuck on the "Other Forms You May Need" section. Can you please help me with this?

Since the steps are simple, maybe the program isn't flowing correctly or perhaps you don't qualify due to additional income.

Follow these steps:

Desktop version:

  1. Delete the form
  2. Save your return while closing the program.
  3. Update the program
  4. Open
  5. Enter the information again.

Online version:

A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, so sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).

For stuck information follow these steps:

  1. Delete the form/ worksheet- if possible, see How to Delete
  2. Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
    • Don't use Internet Explorer.
    • Clear cache and cookies,
    • Sign in using a different browser.
    • Sign in using a different device.
  3. Log back into your return.
    • Enter the information again.

Then try again:

  1. Continue through Minnesota Interview Questions
  2. When you get to Other Forms you may need, select Property Tax Refund
