We moved in Aug '15 and placed our home on the market. It didn't sell. Renters moved in on 4/1/16. When was it placed in service & how many fair rental days count in '16?

Our contract with the real estate agent was from the first week of August 2015 to the first part of February 2016. The house was empty from mid-Aug 2015 until renters moved in on April 1, 2016.  The first rent was received in March 2016.   I assume that there are no personal use days in 2016, but can we count 366 rental days?  It was certainly available for rent on January 1, although it was not advertised as such.

Need to start rental days when you placed on the market for rental purposes, unless you had in realtor agreement that you were willing to rent.
