Was the property you rented exempt from property tax in 2017? what does this question mean, i am single and paid rent most of 2017

I dont own a home and never have, i was renting from a company.

For the tax credit, property tax must be paid for the location.  For a renter, you would have to ask your landlord if you are not sure if the property was exempt from property tax.  Examples of tax exempt would be dorms or apartments owned by a university, church or military housing, some public housing units (like low income housing).  Most privately owned units or complexes are not tax exempt.
