There is a mountain of "needs review" flags and it won't let me file. The numbers are correct, but it all just needs to be marked as expired options.
As an active investor, be aware that your category Box A sales without adjustments do not require Form 8949, so there is no reason to import or key in those transactions.
Instead use the "enter a summary" option to put your numbers on Schedule D Line 1a.
an expired option you wrote is always Category A.
I had this exact same issue. I think my question is i'm just following the turbotax logic flow, and when this information is imported by turbo tax, you have many of these based on your trading activity (even worse when order is not an all or nothing and a single transaction is broken out across several orders.
This was my first year with options, and seemed absolutely crazy that i had to touch so many expired call option line items in 2022...
I'm not expecting to work directly with form 8949 when i'm using TT. Shouldn't this then be handled behind the scenes in TT or am I not doing something right?
When you go to the last item on your list of transactions that need review, do you see the an option to run another review of your tax return?
