TurboTax Deluxe will not let me enter Schedule C expenses

Last year I was able to enter simple expenses and cost of goods in TurboTax Deluxe. Can I still do that? It seems to be forcing me to upgrade

In order to enter Schedule C expenses you will be required to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed. TurboTax Deluxe does not support writing off Schedule C expenses.

I do not have the "ordinary" expenses that the Upgrade says it will save money by getting. The only expenses I need to report are for paying a Patent Attorney to submit a patent, an invention I made. This is something trivial to do on Schedule C, and saying that the version I have does not "support" entering a couple numbers into the Schedule C is not simple TurboTax business practices. It is more accurately called HIGHWAY ROBBERY, TurboTax robbing the taxpayer. Yeah, I read the claim that buying the upgrade to enter expenses "pays for itself." Really?  Entering the expenses of a patent attorney require TurboTax to be upgraded for this at extra cost?  No they don't. This is simply HIGHWAY ROBBERY.

I agree. I have trivial Schedule C expenses (less than the cost of the upgrade) so I don't claim them, even though I'm entitled to them. Very annoying!
