TURBOTAX DELUXE FOR SECTION 1256 CONTRACTS AND STRADDLES / FORM 6781

I know Turbotax Premier is the version recommended for recording Section 1256 Contracts & Straddles for filing Form 6781 as it walks you through all the related questions etc. Can someone however please shed light on how to file these in Turbotax Deluxe, and ideally provide screenshots from this section in Turbotax Deluxe? I have been informed of Traders/Investors who use Turbotax Deluxe for this. TIA.

Yes, you can use TurboTax Deluxe to prepare Form 6781.  

 

Here's how:

  1.  Enter "Form 6781" in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen, and press enter. 
  2. Choose the "Jump to Form 6781" link.
  3. TurboTax will ask if you have "any straddles or Section 1256 contracts?" Answer "yes".
  4. Then, proceed through the interview and answer the questions as they apply to your situation.
