Question about non-qualifying time

On the TurboTax 2023 Home & Business version, in the / Personal Income Section / Sale of Home / "Did you use this home for anything other than your primary home?" With a "Note: If you used your home for reasons other than as your primary residence after it was no longer your primary home, select "NO". " There's an explanation for non-qualified use and in that explanation, it states an example where as long as you first lived in the home as your primary residence, then the rest of the time cannot be non-qualified.

Can someone tell me if there is a non- qualified period if you bought a home and lived for 3 years then you rented for 5 years and you moved back in for 5 years before selling it?

If you move back into the house after you rent it, there is going to be non-qualified time.

Your non-qualified time would be between the time you moved out and the time you moved back in. So the rental period for you is non-qualified.

It should be noted that as long as you use the home as your primary residence and then move out and rent it until it is sold there won't be any non-qualified time.

It's only when you move back in after you rent it that creates this issue.
