Prior-year returns for grandson who has never filed

My teen-age grandson has had a part time job for 2 or 3 years, and has had state and federal taxes withheld.  Can he still file returns for those years and receive his refunds?

He can file a 2022, 2023 and a 2024 tax return that includes a tax refund.  For tax year 2021 it is now beyond the three year limit for filing a tax return with a tax refund.

To complete and file a 2022 and 2023 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the desktop editions for each tax year required from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2022 and 2023 tax return can only be printed and mailed, they cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.  Use a separate envelope for each tax year being mailed.

Thanks, DoninGA!  I'm not sure how this ended up in the Investors and Landlords forum (I'm a first-time poster, long-time TT user), but thanks for replying.  I already have TT 22, 23, and 24 on my computer, so no problem there.  Sounds like a "teaching opportunity" for me and a "learning experience" for him!
