Enter expenses not deducted in a prior year - Look at last years form.
Operating Expenses Not Allowed Last Year (line 43)
Excess Casualty Losses.....(line 44)
When I look back at my 1040 from 2023 - CPA did on different software (still believe its form 8829 because all other questions are similar) - I see those questions on line 41 and 42. There are not any lines 43 and 44.
Unless I am looking back at a different form, that reference text for the line numbers is wrong.

Per IRS 2023 Form 8829, Expenses for Business Use of Your Home, Part IV for the Carryover of Unallowed Expenses has not changed for 2024. Lines 43 and 44 remain the same. It's possible the copy included in your prior year return was not the actual form but a related worksheet.
