Import From Wells Fargo Doesn't Work

The import from Wells Fargo takes my password and pretends to do things, but then a page that comes up and tells me that some crap that implies my tax forms aren't available even though they are.  Then it tells me to enter the information myself.  I don't want to enter all of this brokerage crap and that is one of the reasons that I paid money for the this stupid turbotax crap.  Now it doesn't work and I have to do everything manually.  What a waste of time and money.

All of TurboTax import partners will only have the current tax year forms available for importing for a finite time during the tax year.  The forms to be imported have to be in a certain format, they are not PDF's.  After the due date of the current year returns has passed most all of the financial institutions will turn off import access.  Usually by September of the year all the financial institutions have turned off importing.

Regardless of which tax preparation software is being used, none of the financial institutions will have importing of current tax year forms available in late October.

I think that Intuit should require its so-called import partners to agree to maintain the import capability for a predetermined and published period of time rather than allowing them to shut off their import capability whenever they feel like it.  Also, if it's the case that the import capability has been shut off by the import partner when an import is attempted, then Turbotax needs to report a meaningful message rather than some cryptic garbage that makes people believe that the import function is broken.

Yep, in prior years, a few institutions have even turned off their specially-formatted tax import files by the end of July.

Don't know which ones, just a general observation from many years working in this forum.

Thus, to be safe, get all your file imports done by April...even if you eventually file an extension to finish filing at a later date.

I have two Edward Jones accounts that I want to import to my TurboTax account. How do I do this?

In the Income section, go to Investments and Add Investments.

Type in Edward Jones in the Search bar.

Double-click on the name and on the next screen,  Continue.

Sign In to your Intuit Account, Continue.
