Here are instructions to upload the 1099-B:

Go to Wages & Income

  1. Scroll to Investments
  2. Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B)
  3. Answer Yes to "Did you sell any Investments? Answer "Yes" to "Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement?"
  4. When you reach Let's import your tax info, choose how you want to enter your 1099-B:
    • To import your form, select your brokerage or financial institution from the list. Enter your sign-in credentials for your account, then select Get my form
    • If you want to enter your 1099-B manually, select Enter a different way, then select your investment type on the next screen
  5. On the following screens, answer the questions about your 1099-B
  6. When you reach the Review your sales screen, the form you just entered should be listed
    • If you need to add another 1099-B, select Add another sale. Otherwise, Continue

I am unable to import my stock gain/loss information.  I enter the account number and the document ID and hit continue.  Every time I receive this message :

"Document ID (11 characters, e.g. A12B3456CD7): Please enter the 11-character Document ID without spaces from your Form 1099 (top right corner). " I have entered the document ID correctly.  I do not have that many transactions to process.  I have not had this problem in previous years.  Help!  Is there a glitch in the Turbo Tax program?

If you are using TurboTax Online, you may want to try a different browser or try clearing out your browser's cache and cookies. Please see How do I delete cookies? and How to clear your cache for more information.

Please see What if I can't import my 1099? for instructions. Additionally, please keep in mind that if you are entering a Document ID it is case sensitive. So, if the Document ID is listed in all caps, you will want to enter it in all caps.
