I have rental properties and employees via W2. Can I deduct employer contribution to FICA in my rental expenses?
I deduct the salary of my employees under Cleaning and Maintenance on Schedule E. Can I also deduct the FICA taxes that I as employer have to pay on their behalf? If so, should I also allocate that to Cleaning and Maintenance expense or to other?

All expenses on a rental property goes on a Sch E ... so if you actually have employees the wages you pay and the employer portion of the FICA taxes are both deductions. There is no pre set category for these items on a Sch E so it all goes on line 18.

Thank you. So even though my employees are housecleaners I don't deduct their salaries under "Cleaning and Maintenance"?
