I have a car and rental car question?

I don't own a car but I used rental cars for business and business travel in 2016. I listed the charges in my itemized deductions and then I was later asked questions about automobile ownership. I listed my car as "rental cars". How should I address this expense correctly for my tax return? Thanks.

If you do not own a car and do not use a car that you own for business driving then you would need to remove your answer to the automobile ownership. The expenses (car rental fees and gas) would be expenses that you would report on your return, but they should not be listed on the car ownership page. Remove that and you will be all good.
