I had a long term capital loss in 2016 but TurboTax shows a $0 loss on line 10 of Schedule D. I don't get it.

I have no capital gain to offset but shouldn't I get a $3000 loss for 2016?

Mine did too the first year.  Line 15 on Schedule D showed the Net long term loss, line 16 as well.

You can only deduct so much each year, look at line 21 schedule D. This is the number that you should see on your 1040 form on line 15 as the amount you can use for the year.  The rest is carryover.  Hope this helps, you situation may be completely different than mine.
