I created software at previous employer in 2018 (university). The employer licensed it and pay me royalties for it in 2020. I have a 1099MISC box 2. How do I report this?

Royalty income is reported on SCH E. Under the Personal Income tab in the Business Items section is "Rental and Royalty Income".
