I cashed in 2 US Savings Bonds. I didn't receive a form from my bank. Where do I input that interest?

You should request a 1099-INT from your bank for interest earned on your savings bonds

To enter interest income:

  • Type in 1099-int in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass

  • Click the jump to 1099-int link in the search results.

  • Follow the onscreen instructions to enter

Arrive at the Let's get your 1099-INT or brokerage statement details page

Check the box My form has info in more than just box 1 (this is uncommon)

Enter savings bond interest in box #3 Saving Bonds and treasury int

the system is requiring a FEIN for the institution but I don’t have it because they didn’t give me a 1099

The bank has until Jan 31 to mail you this form, so please wait for it.
