Well you must have a Sch E on the return for some reason so you will need to go back and remove it.  See if you can just delete the form :

  1. Open your return in TurboTax. (To do this, sign in to TurboTax, and select Take me to my return.)
  2. In the left-side menu, select Tax Tools Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the onscreen instructions.

Only two things get reported on SCH E. Rental income, or Royalty income. Maybe you don't own rental property and therefore would not file a SCH E for that? If so, that would indicate you might have royalty income that you incorrectly reported as rental income. If you received a 1099-MISC with income reported in box 2, that's royalty income and does get reported on SCH E. But you have to tell the program it's royalty income. Otherwise, it defaults to rental income.
