I AM NOT OWNER OF THE HOUSE BUT I SUBLET RENTAL HOME. HOW CAN I REPORT IT SCHEDULE E THEY KEEP ASKING AS LIKE I AM AN OWNER IT IS TERRIBLE TOO DISAPPOINTED

You will need to enter that you are not the owner in the property information section.  To do this take the following steps assuming you have already entered your property information in TurboTax.

 

  1. Go to the Rental section and select the pencil or update next to rental property 
  2. Select the pencil or Update next to Rental Property Info
  3.  Select Edit next to or under Ownership Percentage
  4. On the " Do any of these uncommon situations apply"  Select We were not the only owners of this rental.
  5. Select I owned less than 100% of the property and Enter 1% in the drop down
  6. On the next screen " Want us to divide expenses for you?"  Select No
