How is 1099 DIV different from 1099B?

I have 1099 INT and 1099-DIV but no 1099Bs.  Are these reported elsewhere as I continue?

Yes, your 1099-B is reported in a separate section from that of your 1099-DIV and 1099-INT.

  • 1099-DIV reports Dividend Income
  • 1099-INT reports Interest Income
  • 1099-B reports Proceeds from sale of stocks

Your 1099-B can be entered as follows in TurboTax Deluxe:

  1. Click the Federal Taxes tab
  2. Click Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to the Investment Income section
  4. Click the blue Show More for this section
  5. Click Start (or Revisit) next to Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
