Form 6781, Gains and Losses from Sec 1256 Contracts and Straddles is available in TurboTax online editions of Premier and Self-Employed in the Investment Income section.
Enter form 6781 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to form 6781
TurboTax supports Form 6781 (in all desktop versions and the higher versions online).
In the interview, you get there in the Investment Income section (Contracts and Straddles).
What are you trying to enter?
I'm using TurboTax Premier online on a Mac. I'm unable to MANUALLY enter information on Form 6781 as I want to enter the information in the first section using boxes 8, 10, 11 etc. TurboTax keeps forcing me to the interview section with the same questions and there is nothing that allows me to manually enter the information. Everything I'm reporting is from options on indexes (SPX, XSP etc) which qualify for a 60/40 long-term/short-term cap gain. How can I do this????
My problem seems to be I am trying to work from the on line version when I need give up on that and start over in the downloaded version. Thank you
The only thing that goes on Form 6781 is the amount from Line 11 on your 1099-B or substitute form 1099-B.
if you are an individual investor, not a professional there's nothing else to do.
Do you mean for individuals it is not required to add all the transactions; it only requires the total number (Line 11)?
