How can I input Misc1099 rents & royalties for gas & mineral?

I need assistance adding 1099Misc rent & royalties in my program. I have tried all of the community helps plus trying to add a new Schedule E. Constant error stating you cant have rent & royalties on same Schedule E. I need to submit taxes! I have worked with this problem for over a month.

In TurboTax, you can enter your form 1099-MISC for rents and royalties by following these steps:

  • In TurboTax, open your tax return
  • Click on Federal Taxes, then on Wages & Income on top of the screen
  • On the next page, click on I'll choose what I work on
  • On the Income Summary page, scroll down to the section Rental properties and Royalties and click Start next to Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E) (see attached screenshot).

I see that you are using TurboTax Deluxe CD/Download. I have amended my answer accordingly. As you need Schedule E to report your royalties, you'll have to upgrade to TurboTax Premier. I hope that this helps.

I am using the Turbo Tax Deluxe with a cd & download for state. I did notice in the community section that TT premier customers were also having this same problem.
