How can I file schedule GL and resident credit forms? the system agrees I need them but won't walk me though it.

I need to amend my home state as they are taxing me on already taxed income from another state. they advised me I filed wrong by not completing the mentioned forms. TurboTax isn't making this easy, I can't get these forms to be added.

"FYI ... in the TT program ... you should have completed the resident state first before the non resident state"

Normally in TT one files the non-resident state return first, before the home state return.  (There are a few exceptions all of which involve California.)

If you do the state returns in the correct order, TT will automatically generate the correct forms for you.

What are the two states? Which is the state that you live in, and which is the other state? Every state has different forms and rules. Several states have a Schedule GL or Schedule G-L. No one can help you without knowing what states you are asking about.

FYI ... in the TT program ... you should have completed the resident state first before the non resident state (hint ... the order they are listed in the state tab) and the proper credit for taxes paid to the non resident state should be completed automatically.

Thanks. I went over the steps and now it worked out. Not sure what I did differently.

Thanks so much for your help. I redid the steps and now it generated the correct forms. I'm not sure what I didn't input originally that it didn't take me there. I think unchecking a box early on did that. Tricky and easy to miss in my opinion as I expected a specific question regarding taxes in 2 states. This isn't the first time filing in this situation.
